Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
